A Two-Night Weekend in Exhibit Halls A-K
The Indiana Convention Center lists the Central Zone Invitational on 23-24 January 2027 in Exhibit Hall A-K. The venue publishes a forecast attendance of 20,000. Capitol Sports Center and Circle City Volleyball host the tournament. 23 January 2027 is a Saturday and 24 January is a Sunday.
The event covers age divisions from 11s to 18s. Every team is guaranteed five or six matches, and the count depends on age and division.
The Friday Wave Has One Window
Pre-tournament check-in runs from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday 22 January in Hall F. Rosters must be complete in AES by Thursday 21 January. The organiser states that no late check-in desk runs on Saturday morning and asks teams to plan travel accordingly. Group and multi-team check-in is the preferred route.
Those clocks set the arrival pattern. A team that checks in on Friday needs the Friday night. A team that arrives on Saturday morning has no desk to reach.
Pre-Registration Before the Friday Rush
Registration opened on 15 September at noon Eastern through OttoEvent. The entry fee is $600. The organiser publishes two entry deadlines on its own pages. The registration page requires entry fees with a completed entry form by 11/01/2026, and states that no refunds are given after November 1st or after a division fills. The features page reads "Entry Deadline: January 1st, 2027".
The registration page adds that registrations go quickly and that the organiser expects the divisions to close well before the November 1st date. A front office works to the earlier date.
The Saturday Rota
The organiser publishes a partial start-time list: 8 a.m. for all Open divisions, 8 a.m. or 11 a.m. for all Premier divisions, and a 2:30 p.m. heading with no divisions named beneath it. Court assignments and match times sit behind a schedule link that reads TBA.
Saturday is the full day of the tournament. A housekeeping rota built on the 8 a.m. and the 8 or 11 a.m. doors takes the rooms before the first wave returns. A second service window sits between the morning sessions and the 2:30 p.m. block. The organiser publishes no session clock, so the hour a family returns to the room is unset.
Rate Positioning for the Two Nights
The event's housing runs through the Tournament Advantage Program. The programme states that all out-of-town teams must reserve rooms through the event's designated housing company and that reservations made directly with a hotel do not count toward the participation requirement. Each event posts its own room ratio and commuter distance. The event page prints that pair as "5 rooms / 60 mi".
The block holds 107 properties at event rates from $115 a night, with a $12 non-refundable booking fee per reservation. The displayed stay window is 23-24 January, which is one night, and the Friday night is offered as an add-on: "An extra night (Jan 22) can be added when you book, subject to availability."
Availability was thin on a 23 September 2026 read. Of the 107 properties, 105 carried a sold-out badge and 198 individual room-type rows read "None left". Two properties could take a booking. Conrad Hilton Downtown Indianapolis, which carries 2-night and 3-night minimums, showed 19 King rooms at $312. Signia by Hilton Indianapolis Convention Center showed six rooms left in a Club Signia suite at $583, and its standard King at $208 and standard Queen/Queen at $228 both read "None left". Best Western Plus North Indianapolis at the Pyramids reads sold out. Seven properties in the block carry a 2-night or 3-night minimum label.
That is the shape a front office prices against. The Friday night is the block's optional night. Two of the 107 properties were open on the read. The venue's January calendar carries no other event on 23-24 January. The programme's rate guarantee gives the block a floor: the hotel must keep the contracted group rate at or below the lowest publicly available rate for comparable rooms, and it has 48 hours to remove a lower rate or reduce the group block to match it. A commuter exemption is automatic on proof of distance.
Terms the Desk Will Be Asked About
The housing programme sets a 21-or-older check-in rule and a 4:00 p.m. standard check-in. Changes or cancellations made within 10 days of arrival may carry a penalty of one night's room and tax. A no-show on the first night is charged one night plus tax, and the programme cancels the remainder of the reservation. Every room needs a valid guest name and credit card, or the hotel may release it. Each reservation must be tied to a team.
The Demand Behind the Weekend
The venue's live January calendar carries eight events. The Central Zone Invitational is the largest, at 20,000. Victory Athletics Spirit and the Whitetail Film Tour share 9 January at 450 and 300. A Youth Rally and Mass Service runs 20 January at 1,500. Dot Foods runs 27-29 January at 2,000, and a 29-31 January cluster carries the Circle of Stars Gymnastics Invitational at 5,000 and the RxHealing Sales Convention at 2,000. The Indianapolis Royal Weekend closes the month at 1,250 on 31 January. The eight January rows total 32,500.
The market around it runs at a published level. A Downtown Indy Alliance snapshot, prepared last year and citing CoStar and STR, gives downtown Indianapolis 64.7 percent average occupancy against a stated U.S. average of 62.4 percent, a $209.11 average daily rate and a $135.20 RevPAR. CoStar counted 8.1 million room nights of demand in the twelve months ending at mid-year 2025, more than 580,000 above the market's pre-COVID peak. The venue counts 7,100 downtown rooms and 4,700 connected by skywalk.
