W Hollywood Books Two Weeknights at Velvet Hour

W Hollywood runs Slow Burn on Thursdays from 8 p.m. with a USD 40 cover and Open Call karaoke on Wednesdays with no cover, both on Velvet Hour's circular stage.

Two weeknights on one stage

W Hollywood runs Velvet Hour, its rooftop lounge, on two nights each week. Slow Burn holds Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., and started on 10 September. Open Call holds Wednesday, from 7 to 11 p.m., and started on 16 September.

Both nights use the lounge's 360-degree circular stage, which places guests around the performers. Both take bookings through OpenTable.

The cover and the inclusions

Slow Burn carries a cover charge of USD 40. The charge includes bar bites, bar service and bottle service. Open Call carries no cover charge and lists the same bar and bottle service.

The food programme ties small plates to each night. The menu carries a rotating taco-truck-style feature, pizza from Pizza Girl, sushi and a Smash Melt.

The room and the design

Velvet Hour sits on the hotel roof and looks over the Hollywood skyline and the Capitol Records building. A central chandelier by Payman Pakzad of the Creative Production Agency hangs over the space, with integrated lighting, metallic finishes, velvet and silk textures and a jewel-toned palette.

What the property adds around it

W Hollywood runs The Loft as a second rooftop venue. The property works with Tempo AI on a soundtrack that responds to guest presence, weather and energy levels. At The Loft, Tempo Immersive supplies a 3D spatial audio system for artist showcases, installations and creative events.

The Creator Lounge is an Art Deco-inspired content studio with murals by James Peter Henry, a private terrace, a sound booth, and customisable lighting and microphones for podcasting.

The operator read

Two fixed weeknights give the lounge a standing calendar. The Thursday cover prices the evening at USD 40 a head. The venue also takes private buyouts and customised event experiences.

Nick Rimedio, general manager of W Hollywood, said: “Velvet Hour marks the next step for this reimagined destination to create spaces that feel culturally connected and experience-driven. Music has always been part of W's DNA, and we're leaning into that legacy in a way that feels both intimate and unexpected.”

The announcement publishes no capacity for the lounge, no end date for either series and no guest list for Slow Burn.
