IHG One Rewards Points Sale: 100 Percent Bonus to 13 October

IHG One Rewards paid a 100 percent bonus on purchases of 35,000 points or more from 10 to 13 October, with a 3,500-point gift and a 200,000-point annual cap.

The Sale and Its Threshold

IHG One Rewards ran a points sale from 12:00 a.m. Eastern on 10 October 2026 to 11:59 p.m. Eastern on 13 October 2026. A single transaction of 35,000 points or more took a 100 percent bonus. A separate gift of 3,500 points arrived within six weeks of the purchase.

A transaction below 35,000 points paid no bonus and no gift. Those purchases took the standard price of US$13.50 per 1,000 points, or 1.35 US cents each.

Milesopedia records the sale and states that 100 percent is the highest rate the programme grants on this offer. The same record states that IHG repeats the offer almost every month, with a percentage and a threshold that change between editions.

The Cap

The purchase cap is 200,000 points in a calendar year, and bonus points sit outside that count. Points bought earlier in 2026 reduce the allowance. A member who had bought 50,000 points during the year had 150,000 left to buy inside the window. The same allowance reads 400,000 points once the bonus posts.

The Rate Sits in the Account

The offer appeared only to eligible members. Milesopedia states that the percentage in force shows in a member's IHG One Rewards account after sign-in, and that it can differ between accounts. The outlet instructs members to read that figure before buying.

What the Point Cost Inside the Window

At the entry tier, 35,000 points at US$10.00 per 1,000 cost US$350.00. The bonus added 35,000 points and the gift added 3,500, for 73,500 points in hand at 0.48 US cents a point. A purchase at the 200,000-point ceiling cost US$2,000.00 and returned 403,500 points, or 0.50 US cents each.

What a Property Holds After the Sale

Purchased points and bonus points carry no IHG One Rewards Elite status credit. The add-on route does carry it. A member can add up to 5,000 points a night to a reservation at the rate-selection step on the IHG site or in the IHG One Rewards app, and those points count toward the next Elite tier. Milesopedia states that the added points cannot be combined with rates carrying a seven-day free cancellation term.

A points purchase counts as activity on the account, and it pushes the expiry of the member's balance back twelve months against the programme's twelve-month inactivity rule. Points held by Elite members do not expire while the status holds.

The purchase settles in US dollars through Points.com. Purchased points are not refundable and can take up to 72 hours to post.

Milesopedia states that redeeming points carries its strongest value against expensive hotels and peak dates.
