A Free Sunday Parade Crosses Two Hotel Districts

A 10 a.m. mass, a 12:30 p.m. step-off and a 6 p.m. bazaar close put one free Sunday through North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf, priced against the city's October rate.

One Free Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The San Francisco Italian Heritage Parade steps off at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, 11 October 2026. Admission is free, and the Bank of America Concorso Italiano Auto Show is free inside it. The parade begins at the foot of Jefferson and Powell Streets in Fisherman's Wharf, runs south through North Beach on Columbus Avenue, and ends in Washington Square in front of Saints Peter and Paul Church. The organiser's line is, "Parade viewing is available throughout the entire route."

Actor Joe Mantegna serves as Grand Marshal. Bernie Orsi serves as Civic Grand Marshal.

The Clocks That Frame the Afternoon

High Mass runs at 10:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 666 Filbert Street. The 109th Annual Saints Peter and Paul Bazaar opens Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the same address. The weekend opens a day earlier with Il Gran Ballo: La Dolce Vita After Dark, at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday 10 October at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in Union Square.

Fleet Week's own calendar places two bands inside the parade at 12:30 p.m., the 1st Marine Division Ceremonial Band and the Navy Band Southwest Parade Band.

The Rate Basis for the Sunday Afternoon

Engine puts the San Francisco citywide average at $165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. October reads $176, up 7 percent on that average, inside a 35 percent spread between the cheapest and the priciest months and a rank of 18th of 50 major markets. The 50-market median sits at $148.

The day-room shelf prices the shorter window. Dayuse lists an average of $119.61 for a day room in San Francisco and offers "up to 75% off" against an overnight stay. Its San Francisco cards include Hotel Caza Fisherman's Wharf and the Axiom Hotel, both inside the parade's two districts, and that read publishes no per-property day rate.

Both averages are citywide figures. The parade's two districts sit inside them, and neither district publishes its own rate basis for the date.

The Restaurants That Seat the Route

The organiser publishes nine restaurants that seat guests on the street along the route. Original Joe's takes (415) 775-4877. Piazza Pellegrini takes (415) 397-7355. Tony's Pizza Napoletana takes (415) 835-9888. The Italian Homemade Company takes (415) 712-8874. Palermo II Delicatessen takes (415) 937-0161. Firenze by Night takes (415) 392-8585. North Beach Restaurant takes (415) 392-1700. Mona Lisa Mare e Monti Restaurant and Bar takes (415) 398-1300. Steps of Rome Trattoria takes (415) 875-9721.

The organiser calls that street seating "a prime and unique experience to view the parade".

Where the Spend Lands

The route ends at Washington Square, and the church on Filbert Street holds the block. The bazaar runs at the same address until 6 p.m. Mass at 10 a.m. and the step-off at 12:30 p.m. bring the same crowd through the same two blocks twice in one day.

The nine restaurants sit along the route, and the organiser publishes no cover charge, no reservation system and no parade-day menu for them. A front desk can quote the two clocks the organiser does publish, the 12:30 p.m. step-off and the 6 p.m. bazaar close.
