The terms for the fourth quarter
IHG One Rewards opened pre-registration for its fourth-quarter 2026 promotion on 17 September 2026. The pre-registration window closes on 30 September 2026. The earning window runs from 1 October to 31 December 2026. IHG publishes the offer under the name Up to 3X.
A member may also register inside the earning window. A stay completed before registration earns nothing toward the promotion. Registration runs once per member.
The two earning rates
IHG pays no bonus on the first qualifying stay. From the second qualifying stay, a member earns double points on stays booked through an IHG-owned direct booking channel.
The triple rate applies to the same qualifying stays booked through the IHG One Rewards app, WeChat or LINE. The app qualifies on HarmonyOS, Android and iOS. The channel used for each stay sets the tier for that stay. One member can hold double-rate and triple-rate stays inside one promotion period. The terms put no cap on bonus earning.
The qualifying stay
The terms define a qualifying stay as a minimum one-night stay at a participating hotel on a qualifying rate, booked through an IHG-owned direct booking channel, with total spend above USD 30 for each night.
Reward Nights and Points + Cash stays do not qualify. Bookings through online travel agencies and other reservation sites, including booking.com and expedia.com, do not qualify. Where a member books more than one room for the same night, IHG credits one room. Where more than one registered member checks into the same room, one member earns.
What the desk and the revenue team watch
The bonus reaches only stays a guest books on an IHG-owned direct channel. A third-party booking earns nothing under the promotion.
Registration decides the guest's eligibility. An unregistered member earns nothing from the stay, and a member who registers after check-out earns nothing from that stay.
The USD 30 spend threshold applies to each night. A Reward Night and a Points + Cash stay sit outside the promotion.
The source's valuation
Traveling For Miles values IHG One Rewards points at 0.4 cents each and works a three-night app booking at USD 250 a night to 22,500 points. The rebate follows from that publication's own valuation.
The change from the 2025 terms
Traveling For Miles compares the 2026 terms with the 2025 set. The 2025 promotion capped bonus earning at 70,000 points. The 2025 terms also moved the triple rate to the third qualifying stay. The 2026 terms put no cap on earning and start the triple rate at the second qualifying stay.
