Hyatt Points Transfers Go Online: The Page and the Caps

World of Hyatt moved member-to-member points transfers online on 15 October 2026. The tool takes four recipient fields, and six transfers a year carry a 525,000-point cap in each direction.

World of Hyatt opened member-to-member points transfers online on 15 October 2026. A member moves points into another member's account through the programme website. The transfer costs nothing.

The Daily Checkout has carried this change twice. Hyatt Switches On Free Member Points Transfers recorded the launch day. Hyatt Moves Member Points Online, Six Transfers a Year set out the four limits. This piece covers the page a member works through and the volume the caps allow across a year.

The page path and the four fields

The tool sits on the programme’s Purchase & Gift Points page. A member signs in to the World of Hyatt account and selects the gift-points option. Outlets that walked the page print that control’s label differently.

The next screen takes an amount. A summary follows with the amount and a processing fee of $0.

The sender supplies four items for the recipient. They are a first name, a last name, an email address and a World of Hyatt membership number. The sender reviews the entry and submits the transfer.

Two clocks and one cap

Both accounts need 60 days of age and standing in good order. A membership opened this week cannot receive points.

The frequency rule allows one transfer in each calendar month, up to six in a calendar year.

The volume rule caps what a member sends at 525,000 points a calendar year. The same figure caps what a member receives.

What six transfers carry

A member who sends the 1,000-point minimum six times in a year moves 6,000 points.

Reaching 525,000 points at the minimum size takes 525 transfers. The frequency rule allows six.

Six transfers that reach the cap average 87,500 points each. A member sends one large transfer in each of six months to reach the ceiling.

The frequency rule counts transfers. A member who sends 500,000 points in one transfer has used one of the six and holds 25,000 points of send allowance for the rest of the year.

The send allowance and the receipt allowance sit with each member. Two members can therefore move 525,000 points in each direction across one calendar year, 1,050,000 points over the two directions.

A member's calendar position limits the count available. A member who starts in November has two months left in 2026 and two transfers available for that year. The remaining four arrive on 1 January.

The cap Hyatt confirmed before launch

Frequent Miler put the question to Hyatt before the switch-on. The programme's representative told the outlet that members could send a maximum of 525,000 points per calendar year and receive up to the same figure. Frequent Miler published that answer on 14 October 2026. Hyatt said the full terms would follow the next day.

Arrival time

Points generally arrive within 24 hours, per the outlet's account. Members report some transfers landing within minutes. A transfer pulled for review can take up to 10 business days.

The route before 15 October required both members to sign a point-combining form and send it to Hyatt by email. Points Talk Squad reports the online tool as the replacement for that route.

What the rule set adds

The outlet prints no per-transaction ceiling. The 525,000 figure applies to the calendar year, in each direction.

The recipient does not have to be a relative and does not have to share the sender's address, per the outlet.

Both parties carry a cap. A member who receives 525,000 points has spent the receipt allowance for that year. A sender who fills the send allowance gains the same space again on 1 January.

The transfer is free. The allowances reset on 1 January, and a member with a 2027 award in view has six transfers open and 525,000 points of room in each direction.
