GEMS Puts 23 of 47 Sessions on One Weekend

Miami Film Festival GEMS dates 47 sessions from Oct. 29 to Nov. 5, 2026. Saturday Oct. 31 and Sunday Nov. 1 carry 23 of them across four venues.

Miami Film Festival GEMS runs eight nights, Thursday Oct. 29 to Thursday Nov. 5, 2026. The festival published calendar dates 47 sessions inside that window. Twenty-three of them fall on Saturday Oct. 31 and Sunday Nov. 1.

Four rooms run at the same clock on both weekend days. Two sit in Coral Gables: the Bill Cosford Cinema at 5030 Brunson Drive and Coral Gables Art Cinema at 260 Aragon Avenue. Two sit in Miami: the Koubek Center at 2705 Southwest 3rd Street and Silverspot Cinema at 300 Southeast 3rd Street.

Where the 47 sessions sit

The calendar gives the split day by day. Two sessions on Thursday Oct. 29, four on Friday Oct. 30, eleven on Saturday Oct. 31, twelve on Sunday Nov. 1, five on Monday Nov. 2, six on Tuesday Nov. 3, four on Wednesday Nov. 4, three on Thursday Nov. 5.

The other six nights carry 24 sessions. The weekend pair carries 23, which is 48.9 percent of the run.

The seat price holds on every night

Here is the published ladder. General Screening $16.50, or $14.50 for members. Centerpiece $20, or $17. Special Screenings $25 to $82, with a member band of $22 to $87. Opening Night with pre-reception $55, or $50. Closing Night $25, or $22. The Variety conversation $40, or $35. Each ticket carries a $2 to $10 processing fee.

The ladder applies to every night of the run. Twenty-three General seats across the weekend pair carry $46 to $230 in fees alone.

Capacity moves. The festival sells advance tickets to maximum capacity, then cuts off advance purchase and turns some events into Rush Line Only.

The rush line rule for the desk script

About 15 minutes before a film starts, empty seats are released and rush tickets go on sale at the venue at full price, as capacity allows.

Once the rush line opens, ticket-holders are seated at the venue manager’s discretion. Late seating is not guaranteed.

The festival asks ticket-holders to be seated 15 minutes before the published start. Lines form about one hour before a start. Rooms open about 30 minutes before.

Badge holders use the Early Entry line, which opens about 15 minutes before general entry. A badge covers the holder plus up to three guests. The FAQ lists the badge categories as Miami Film Society members, sponsors and partners, filmmakers and industry, and press.

Three hotel names and no rate

The festival Travel and Dining page names three hotel partners: JW Marriott Marquis Miami, W Miami and 1 Hotel South Beach.

The page carries those three names with no rate, no booking code and no cut-off date. Take the stay dates, the screening count and the party size to sales.

The same page lists three restaurant partners: TULUM Rooftop Bar and Restaurant, Boulud Sud and Paella y Olé.

Two clusters and the drive between them

The 12:15 starts land one in each cluster: Elsinore at the Cosford, The Beloved at the Koubek.

OpenStreetMap routing on Oct. 20 gives 2.66 miles and about seven minutes from the Koubek Center to Coral Gables Art Cinema. The same read gives 7.8 miles and about 15 minutes from Silverspot Cinema to the Cosford.

Saturday runs 12:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. across 11 starts. The last is The Love Witch on 35 mm at Coral Gables Art Cinema. Sunday runs 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. across 12 starts.
