The partner changed and a promotion opened
World of Hyatt has signed Air Canada and its Aeroplan programme as its preferred airline partner. American Airlines held that role. Head for Points reported the change on 16 October 2026.
Hyatt opened a launch promotion beside the partnership. Two steps put a member into it. The member links an Aeroplan account to a World of Hyatt account on the Hyatt site. The member then registers for the launch promotion on the same site.
1.5 Aeroplan points on each cash dollar
Cash Hyatt stays completed by 14 February 2027 earn 1.5 Aeroplan points per US dollar spent. Head for Points states that the bonus arrives on top of the World of Hyatt points the same stay earns. The member keeps both balances.
Registration shuts on 11 November 2026. A member who registers on that date still earns on stays completed by 14 February 2027. The window between the two dates runs 95 days.
Two dates decide the earn
The promotion pays on cash stays. A guest who books in December and never registers earns the standard World of Hyatt points on the stay, and the bonus does not post.
The 14 February completion date puts the bonus inside the winter rate season. A revenue manager setting a February group rate is setting the spend the promotion pays on.
The second leg needs elite status
Aeroplan points reach both hotel programmes, and both conversions carry an elite requirement. Head for Points states that Aeroplan elite members, Elite 25K included, convert Aeroplan points into Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1 and into World of Hyatt at 2:1.
Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite members and Titanium Elite members receive complimentary Aeroplan 25K status when they link the two accounts. Marriott states that on its Air Canada partner page. Head for Points reports an instant match.
World of Hyatt status produces no Aeroplan match. The route into Aeroplan elite status runs through Marriott Bonvoy.
The arithmetic on a stay
One dollar of stay spend earns 1.5 Aeroplan points. At 1:1 that dollar becomes 1.5 Marriott Bonvoy points. At 2:1 it becomes 0.75 World of Hyatt Bonus Points.
A stay of USD 1,500 earns 2,250 Aeroplan points at the published rate. That converts to 2,250 Marriott Bonvoy points or 1,125 World of Hyatt Bonus Points. Head for Points works its own example at about 2,000 Aeroplan points for a stay of about USD 1,500.
What the desk puts in front of the guest
Three sentences cover the promotion at check-in. The stay earns 1.5 Aeroplan points a dollar on cash spend. Registration closes 11 November 2026. The stay must complete by 14 February 2027.
A guest who asks about the transfer needs one more. Aeroplan elite members move points to Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1 and to World of Hyatt at 2:1, and the Marriott Titanium and Ambassador match is the route into that status.
World of Hyatt publishes the promotion on its own site. The registration window closes 95 days before the earn window does.
