Alto 19 takes the top floor
White Rabbit Projects and Locke open Alto 19 on 15 October 2026. The venue is a restaurant, bar and lounge on the 19th floor of Locke London Canary Wharf, with 100 covers.
The kitchen serves a modern Mediterranean menu. The bar pours cocktails and wine. The evening programme runs into late-night music with DJs.
The property underneath
Locke London Canary Wharf is open on the Canary Wharf waterfront, with 279 studios and suites on Locke's own pages. LUQA is the property's food and drink venue, running from morning coffee through evening drinks as an all-day cafe and bar.
Locke lists ALTO as the rooftop bar and restaurant coming soon on its own site. The hotel's listing also carries early check-in and late check-out, weekly cleaning, a 24-hour front desk with luggage storage, daily breakfast and private meeting rooms.
The room and the private dining
Windows run around the perimeter, with views across London. The room combines dining, lounge and bar seating around a granite-topped central bar. The interiors use red tones, timber, reflective surfaces and patterned furnishings, with a chrome DJ booth.
A private dining room holds ten people for meetings and private events. Locke's own guest page describes a private dining space for up to 12.
The operator behind the restaurant
White Rabbit Projects was founded in 2016 by chief executive Chris Miller, a former commercial director at the Soho House Group. Its about page lists a team of 900 across 54 sites, with Lina Stores, Kricket, Island Poké and White Rabbit Hospitality in the portfolio.
Miller said: “We have spent ten years building restaurants and during that time Canary Wharf has quietly become a dining destination in its own right. Alto 19 is our third in partnership with Locke after Michelin recommended Santa Joana in Lisbon with Culinary Director Nuno Mendes and Eve in Kensington.”
The third venue with Locke
The group runs Santa Joana and Santa Marta at Locke de Santa Joana in Lisbon and EVE at Ember Locke in Kensington. White Rabbit Projects describes EVE as a pizzeria working with 48-hour fermented dough, opened in August 2024. Locke's own feature page describes EVE as an all-day restaurant, cafe and bar with a menu by Executive Chef Talia Prince. Both descriptions stand as published.
The kitchen
Chris Dargavel takes the kitchen as Executive Chef, arriving from Daphne's in Kensington after three years as Head Chef. His earlier posts include eight years as Head Chef at J Sheekey in Covent Garden. He joined the opening teams at Scott's in Mayfair and Roux at Parliament Square, and began his London career at Le Caprice.
Dargavel said: “Everything starts with pristine ingredients and knowing how to enhance them. We're bringing a sociable, modern Mediterranean menu to Canary Wharf — focusing on great wild fish, fresh hand-cut pasta, and bold centrepieces designed to be shared.”
The opening menu names snacks, crudo, hand-cut pasta, grilled mains and three sharing dishes. Desserts run to a dark chocolate mousse, a caramelised citrus tart and a red wine and blackberry soft serve.
What the notice leaves out
The opening notice publishes no menu prices, no opening hours and no booking channel. It carries no spend per head and no launch date for the music programme.
Locke markets the venue as ALTO on its own site. The announcement and the trade coverage use Alto 19.
