Thirteen rate points, one block
The National Science Teaching Association holds its fall national conference at the Indiana Convention Center from November 4 to November 7, 2026. The venue forecasts 4,000 attendees. Reservations run through IMN Solutions, the official housing provider, and the housing page publishes 13 downtown hotels with a rate for each.

The 13 published rates run from $189 to $279. The top of the range sits 47.6 percent above the lowest rate. The median is $249.
The rate ladder tracks the walkway
The housing page publishes a hotel map beside the rate table. Nine of the 13 block hotels sit on the skywalk network that reaches the convention center: Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, JW Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield by Marriott, SpringHill Suites, Hyatt Regency, The Westin, Omni Severin and Embassy Suites. Each carries the map note Connected to convention center and a street address.
The other four hotels carry a block count. Hampton Inn Downtown sits three blocks out. Holiday Inn Downtown sits two blocks out. Hyatt Place Indianapolis Downtown sits three blocks out. Tru by Hilton sits two blocks out.
Those four hotels hold the four lowest rates in the block: $189, $199, $209 and $231. The nine connected hotels start at $239. The map names Fairfield by Marriott where the rate table names Fairfield Inn and Suites.
Wednesday opens at 7:15
Two ticketed events run on Wednesday, November 4, and registration for both opens at 7:15 a.m. The Professional Learning Institutes run 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Leadership Development Academy runs 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Both require pre-registration and a separate ticket. Participants in either event receive breakfast and lunch at no charge.
The main registration desk opens at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. The STEM Showcase runs 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The first-timers session runs 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A concurrent session runs 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. The opening reception runs 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. for registered attendees, and entertainment runs 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday carries the week's first ticketed start, at 8:00 a.m. Thursday's registration desk opens at 7:00 a.m., 15 minutes before that day's first-timers session.
Thursday and Friday carry the expo
Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. Thursday runs a first-timers session at 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. and an opening keynote at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The Expo Hall ribbon cutting runs 10:50 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The hall runs 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with exclusive attendee hours from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Poster sessions run 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Concurrent sessions run 1:00 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. The Leaders Institute for administrators runs the same day, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Friday concurrent sessions run 8:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Expo Hall runs 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with exclusive hours from 11:40 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. A speed-sharing block runs 1:20 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.
The organiser runs a space at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown called The Haven, in Marriott Ballroom 6. It serves a complimentary lunch on three days and states that lunch seating is limited. Lunch tickets run by grade level: elementary and informal education on Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., high school on Friday 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., and middle school on Saturday 11:40 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.
Saturday closes the expo at 1:00 p.m.

Every published clock on Saturday sits inside the morning and early afternoon. A Saturday-night stay carries no published conference activity, so the checkout hour comes from the property.
The booking clock
Reservations run first-come, space-available. The housing page sets October 11, 2026 as the date to guarantee availability and conference rates, and states that hotels may charge higher rates after it. IMN Solutions takes bookings by phone or email, with agents available 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday.
The page publishes deposit terms. A valid credit card holds one night's room and tax for each room reserved as a guarantee, and the card is not charged at booking. Hotel confirmations arrive about two weeks before the convention.
The page publishes cancellation terms. A reservation cancelled after the published date carries a $50 processing fee per room. A cancellation inside 48 hours of arrival carries the $50 fee and a hotel penalty of one night's room and tax.
The housing page states that NSTA provides no shuttle service between conference hotels and the convention center.
The downtown room count
The venue footer publishes 7,100 downtown hotel rooms, 4,700 of them connected to the center by skywalk, and 200 downtown restaurants within walking distance. The 4,000 forecast equals 56.3 percent of the downtown room count. The connected inventory equals 66.2 percent of it.
The Downtown Indy Alliance snapshot, citing CoStar and STR data, put downtown Indianapolis occupancy at 64.7 percent and the U.S. average at 62.4 percent. Average daily rate reached $209.11 with a 12 percent year-over-year rise. Revenue per available room reached $135.20 with a 13 percent rise. Bradford Allen republished the snapshot on March 19, 2026.
The venue expansion page lists the 803-room Signia by Hilton Indianapolis as skybridge-connected with a December 2026 target, a 50,455-square-foot Grand Ballroom and 90,000 square feet of meeting space.
One arithmetic illustration: 4,000 attendees each booking three nights at the $269 headquarters rate comes to $3,228,000 in room revenue. The same three nights at $189 comes to $2,268,000, and at $279 it comes to $3,348,000. Each figure is a ceiling, and each assumes every attendee stays in the block for three nights at one rate. Actual pick-up spreads across 13 hotels and 13 rates.
