The schedule's first entry is a Monday
Miami Art Week publishes a 2026 schedule on its own site. The first dated item is the Official Miami Art Week Kickoff Party presented by PNC Bank, Monday 30 November, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The listing carries the line VIP, invitation only. The last dated item is Sunday 6 December.
That window sets the booking fence. Six nights from Monday 30 November check the guest out on Sunday 6 December. Five nights from Tuesday 1 December check the guest out on the same morning. The two shapes differ by one night, and the night is Monday.
Friday and Saturday sit inside both shapes
Art Basel Miami Beach carries the public programme that fills rooms. Its private days are Wednesday 2 December, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for First Choice and 4 to 7 p.m. for Preview, and Thursday 3 December on 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for First Choice and Preview VIP with a Vernissage from 4 to 7 p.m. Public days are Friday 4, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each.
A Tuesday arrival holds Friday and Saturday nights inside the stay. So does a Monday arrival. The arrival date decides whether the guest holds a room on Monday.
What the Monday night pays for
The kickoff party runs four hours and admits invitation holders. A hotel cannot sell Monday night to a general art week guest on the strength of a party that requires a credential. The Monday schedule holds one other entry. AfriKin Art Fair lists public days from 30 November to 6 December at Maison AfriKin, 1600 NE 126th Street in North Miami, after a vernissage on Sunday 29 November.
The mainland programme starts on Tuesday. The arteNXT exhibition at 2300 North Miami Avenue opens to the public at noon, and Art Miami, CONTEXT and NADA open their runs.
Wednesday and Thursday price invitation traffic
Basel admits by invitation on both midweek days, and the public ticket opens on Friday. The midweek public floors are the arteNXT and photoMIAMI exhibitions at 2300 North Miami Avenue, noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday, and Aqua Art Miami, which opens its public hours on Thursday from noon to 9 p.m. after a Wednesday VIP preview from 3 to 10 p.m. at the Aqua Hotel.
Wednesday and Thursday carry a thinner public programme than Friday and Saturday. Segment those two nights to credential holders and to the galleries and advisers who travel with them.
What the market's published blocks state
Art Miami publishes four hotel partners with distances and a rate check that opens the housing vendor's record. Two of those records state their terms. Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay publishes run of house at $379 for 28 November to 7 December, 13 percent city tax, a $30 destination fee a night, a one night minimum and an early departure fee of one night plus tax, with a cancellation penalty dated from 20 November. JW Marriott Marquis publishes $499 deluxe, $509 bay view, $599 executive suite and $624 bay view suite for 30 November to 6 December, 14 percent city tax, a $35 destination fee a night, a one night minimum and the same early departure fee, with its cancellation penalty dated from 18 November.
Neither record states a minimum length of stay beyond one night. Both guard the booking on departure instead. A hotel that sets a five night arrival fence sets a term its neighbouring block leaves out.
The sixth night, priced
At the Marriott's $379, the sixth night costs $462.17 with 13 percent tax and the $30 destination fee taxed the same way. At the JW's $499 the night costs $608.76 with 14 percent tax and the $35 fee taxed the same way. A guest comparing a Monday and a Tuesday arrival sees that number against one more night of the trip.
The sixth night also lifts the room nights on the booking by 20 percent. It buys a Monday whose public offering is one fair in North Miami and a party that admits invitation holders.
Which fence to set
Set the fence on the arrival the programme pays for. Five nights from Tuesday 1 December hold the room through Saturday night, start on the day the mainland public floors open, and cost one night less. Six nights from Monday add one night to the front of the stay.
Two adjustments keep the Monday night sellable. Quote it as an extension at the same nightly rate instead of a condition on the booking, and route it to guests who hold a kickoff invitation or a Basel private day credential. Put the guard on departure. An early departure fee of one night plus tax matches both published blocks and recovers a night when a guest shortens a five night booking.
The seventh night is a separate line
Both shapes release the room on the morning of Sunday 6 December, and the public day runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A guest who wants the last day adds a seventh night and checks out Monday. Price that night on its own, so the arrival decision stays a five or six night choice.
Re-read the schedule at booking
The schedule page carries its own disclaimer. Event dates, hours and locations are subject to change, and the page was last updated 15 July 2026. It also states that the third party fairs are not owned or operated by Miami Art Week LLC. Quote a clock from the fair's own page when a booking depends on it.
