GreenStar Deploys Canary Guest Tools Across Five Finnish Hotels

GreenStar Hotels has deployed Canary Technologies' guest-management suite across its five Finnish city hotels, covering digital check-in, messaging in more than 100 languages, tipping and upsells.

Five City Hotels on One Guest Channel

GreenStar Hotels has selected Canary Technologies' guest-management suite for its five Finnish hotels. The vendor release names digital check-in and check-out, AI Guest Messaging in more than 100 languages, the Digital Compendium, Digital Tipping and Dynamic Upsells. The deployment covers the full chain.

The item is vendor copy. Hospitality Ireland published it on 15 October 2026 under Robert McHugh's byline with a note that the article was written in partnership with Canary Technologies. Canary's own release carries the same text and is dated 30 June 2026.

The Chain

GreenStar runs five hotels in five Finnish cities: Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Lahti, Vaasa and Oulu. The chain positions itself on the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and on affordability.

Five Touchpoints the Release Names

A guest checks in and out digitally. AI Guest Messaging answers in more than 100 languages through the guest's own device. The Digital Compendium carries property information in the same channel. Digital Tipping lets a guest recognise a named member of staff. Dynamic Upsells surface add-ons during the stay.

The release carries no price, no contract term, no go-live date and no result figures. It names no property-level rollout order. It claims no measured change in review scores, ancillary revenue or staff hours.

Two Quotes

Manuel de la Torre, head of sales EMEA at Canary Technologies: "GreenStar Hotels is providing exceptional hospitality by using technology that further advances their mission. Canary gives their team the tools to deepen guest connections, unlock new revenue, spend less time on manual tasks and invest time in the moments that matter."

Harri Nevalainen, Business Director at GreenStar Hotels: "Canary's technology helps us create a more convenient, connected guest experience while enabling our teams to operate more efficiently. We believe this investment will help us continue raising the standard for modern, responsible hospitality."

The Carbon-Neutral Descriptor

The release describes GreenStar as "Finland's first carbon-neutral hotel chain". GreenStar's own sustainability page sets out the chain's position on that label. It reads: "This is a voluntary additional measure and does not reduce the emissions from our own hotels, which is why we do not call our hotels carbon neutral."

The page records the voluntary measure itself. The chain finances certified climate projects through CO2 Eston each year, and the annual contribution exceeds the emissions its own accounting quantifies.

The same page lists the certifications the chain holds. All five hotels carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. Electricity is emission-free and verified with Guarantees of Origin. Sweco calculates the chain's emissions twice a year under the GHG Protocol.

What a General Manager Can Use

One chain has put check-in, messaging, tipping and upsells into a single guest channel across five properties. The document gives the product set and two executive quotes. A general manager weighing a similar stack still needs the price, the contract term and a measured result, and this document carries none of the three.
