A 78 Million Dollar Training Center on the Jail Site
The Indiana Fever broke ground on the Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center on September 4, 2025 at 30 S. Alabama Street, on the west half of the former Marion County Jail I site. The Fever release puts the budget at 78 million dollars and the building at 108,000 square feet across three stories. The release states the facility connects to Gainbridge Fieldhouse by skybridge and opens before the 2027 WNBA season. Shiel Sexton leads construction, and Populous is the architect of record.
Pacers Sports & Entertainment owns the Fever. The release states the city will transfer the land to the Capital Improvement Board, which owns the parcel, and that the CIB signs an operating agreement with a Pacers Sports & Entertainment affiliate.
The Program Inside the Building
The published program lists two regulation-size courts, strength and conditioning space, sports medicine and rehabilitation space, and a recovery suite. The recovery suite carries hydrotherapy pools, an infrared sauna, red light therapy and treatment rooms. The building adds a full-service kitchen with a nutrition and smoothie bar, yoga and Pilates space, mental performance rooms, child care space, a hair and nail salon, a podcast and content studio, and a golf simulator. The ground level holds the Hall of Excellence and a team store.
