The chart in force from 15 September
Wyndham Rewards runs four free-night tiers from 15 September 2026. A night costs 5,000, 15,000, 30,000 or 45,000 points. The entry tier came down from 7,500 points, and the 45,000-point level is new. Milesopedia published the change on 15 September 2026 under the byline Audrey Voisine, and the page carries a 22 September 2026 update stamp. The programme announced the change in June 2026.
The structure is fixed. Each hotel sits in one tier, and the programme publishes no dynamic pricing and no seasonal variation. Wyndham's own Wyndham Rewards page headlines its redemption offer as “Starting at just 5,000 points” and lists more than 8,000 hotels worldwide.
The tier a property sits in is the first check
Wyndham moved hotels between tiers one at a time. Some went down, some went up, and a hotel that held its tier kept its points price. Milesopedia advises a member to check the current tier of a hotel before booking. A property's revenue team runs the same check on its own listing, because the tier sets the points a guest spends on a redemption night.
Milesopedia describes the 45,000-point level as aimed at a small number of upscale hotels and places the most in-demand destinations inside it.
The per-bedroom basis at resorts and rentals
At a standard hotel the price applies per night. At a resort or a vacation rental it applies per bedroom per night. A two-bedroom unit carries two times the published figure, and Wyndham's redemption footnote states that a member must hold enough points for every bedroom in the accommodation before booking.
The cash element and the fee line
Each tier carries a discounted-night version that combines points with cash. The points element starts at 10 percent of the tier, so the floors run at 500, 1,500, 3,000 and 4,500 points. Wyndham publishes the cash portion as varying by property and by date.
Resort fees sit outside a redemption. Wyndham's redemption footnote states that taxes and resort fees may apply even on a free night and that points cannot pay them. Milesopedia adds that only the Caesars properties may charge a resort fee.
Bookings made before 15 September
A booking made with points before 15 September 2026 holds the rate in force on the day it was made. Wyndham confirmed the protection. The programme refunds the difference in points automatically when a booked hotel drops to a lower tier. Bookings made from 15 September take the new price, and Milesopedia reports no grandfathering window for them.
The counts across the chart
Upgraded Points counted the effect across 8,404 hotels: 34 percent cost more after the change, 22 percent cost less and 44 percent held. It counted 1,337 hotels moving between the two entry levels. Those tallies are the outlet's own count across the programme's published list.
One figure on Wyndham's own page has not moved. Its redemption footnote still caps the requirement at “as high as 30,000 points per bedroom” while the chart tops out at 45,000.
