Eight league days, fixed
The NFL Scouting Combine stays in Indianapolis in 2027 and 2028. The Colts' account of the extension carries an announcement date of 21 January 2026. The league's own slate of important dates for the 2026-27 season, published on 7 July 2026, puts the 2027 edition at March 1 through March 8 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The window runs eight days and seven nights. Both ends fall on a Monday, so the block carries one arrival day, one release day and one weekend. The 2026 edition ran Feb. 23 through March 2 at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium, and the agreement that carried it had been due to expire after that edition.
The league calendar around the week
The franchise and transition tag window closes at 4 p.m. ET on March 3, inside Combine week. The free agency negotiation period opens at noon ET on March 9, one day after the Combine ends, and the 2027 league year begins at 4 p.m. on March 11.
A delegate who stays for the opening of the negotiation period needs the night of March 8, one night past the Combine's published close. Colts.com notes the change against previous years, when free agency opened a little over a week after the Combine.
The downtown supply the rate sits against
Two publishers carry the downtown count. The Indiana Convention Center's hotels page reads 7,100 hotel rooms downtown and 4,700 connected to the Convention Center by skywalks, with more than half of the 7,100 within blocks of the center and the stadium. Visit Indy counts more than 8,300 rooms downtown, 12 hotels and 4,700 rooms connected, and more than 3,000 rooms in the pipeline.
No Combine rate is published by the league, the Colts or Visit Indy, so the rate anchor is a market print. Bradford Allen's 19 March 2026 market piece reports a Downtown Indy Alliance snapshot citing CoStar and STR data: downtown occupancy of 64.7 percent against a U.S. average of 62.4 percent, an average daily rate of $209.11 with a 12 percent year-over-year gain, and RevPAR of $135.20, up 13 percent and 35 percent ahead of the U.S. average of $99.96.
The same piece carries 8.1 million room nights of demand in the 12 months to mid-2025, more than 580,000 above the market's pre-COVID peak, and a PwC forecast of 0.9 percent U.S. RevPAR growth for 2026.
What the league reports
The 2025 edition drew more than 30,000 visitors and fans across the week and generated a record $9.26 million in economic impact, on the Colts' account.
The venue's public feed for February and March 2027 returns 13 dated records, and the Combine is not among them. The nearest dated neighbours are Aloha Indy on 28 February and Work Truck Week from 10 to 12 March. No forecast, hall assignment or doors clock for the Combine sits in that feed.
Three items are published: the dates, the venue the league names, and the Convention Center as the conduit that moves prospects between meetings, athletic testing, medical evaluations and media availability. Three items are open: the 2027 room block, the 2027 rate and the 2027 cut-off date. No housing bureau is named.
The fan layer and its own clock
Visit Indy's Combine page still carries the 2026 edition. It dates the fan window February 26 through March 1 and publishes the terms as free admission, parking included, first come, first served, with free-ticket registration through the NFL OnePass app. The Combine Experience runs in the South Lot of Lucas Oil Stadium and on the interior concourses, and the Inside Look runs inside the stadium.
Its grid gives four days by position group: Combine Experience hours of 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Sunday, with drills starting at 3 p.m., 3 p.m., 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. Food and beverage runs through Lucas Oil Stadium concessions.
That grid belongs to the 2026 edition. The 2027 fan window, its hours, its admission terms and its concession plan sit unpublished, so the public days cannot be staffed to a clock yet.
