One Moscone Day, 1,200 Delegates and a Single Check-In Peak

NPH's 47th affordable housing conference put more than 1,200 delegates into one Moscone day, with an 8 a.m. registration and a 5:30 p.m. close.

One day, one venue, one arrival night

NPH, the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California, ran its 47th Annual NPH Affordable Housing Conference on 24 September 2026 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. The organiser's sponsor packet puts more than 1,200 housing leaders in the room: developers, lenders, public agencies, policymakers and advocates. The event listing runs 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pacific.

The audience breakdown in the same document reads 35 percent developer, 15 percent lender or investor, 15 percent public agency, 10 percent policy or advocacy, 8 percent construction or contracting, 7 percent architecture or engineering and 10 percent other.

The published day

NPH publishes an abbreviated conference schedule. Registration opens at 8 a.m. Morning refreshments run 8 to 9:15 a.m. Workshop Session I runs 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. The Keynote Plenary runs 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lunch runs 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Workshop Session II runs 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. The afternoon break runs 2:45 to 3:15 p.m. Workshop Session III runs 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. The Networking Reception runs 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The organiser's conference page states doors open at 8 a.m. and the conference ends at 5:30 p.m. Registration for the 2026 edition is closed.

The front desk shape

A delegate who travels to the city needs the night of 23 September to be in the room for an 8 a.m. registration. The programme closes at 5:30 p.m. on the 24th, so that delegate can be at the airport the same evening. The published shape is one compressed day and one arrival night.

Kalibri Labs with PwC put the U.S. group average length of stay at 2.46 days in 2017 and the booking lead time at 18.5 days. That study covers January to September in 2015 through 2017. Engine observes San Francisco rates 10 to 180 days before check-in.

The arrival band is narrow. Check-ins concentrate into one evening against a hard 8 a.m. start. The front desk carries one arrival wave.

Where the food goes

Moscone Center publishes its catering terms. Legends Global is the exclusive food and beverage provider for the venue. All food and beverage items must be supplied and prepared by Legends Global. No food, beverage or alcohol may be brought into or removed from the center without written approval. A request takes four weeks.

The day's four food windows sit inside that exclusivity: morning refreshments, lunch, the afternoon break and the closing reception. Hotel food and beverage capture for this group sits on the night before and the morning of the event day.

CBRE Hotels Research's food and beverage article, dated 10 November 2025, records banquet revenue down 7.3 percent at convention hotels. Banquet revenue rose 8.7 percent at resort hotels. Food revenue rose 5.2 percent in hotel venues and 4.0 percent in banquet spaces. Labor was 59.4 percent of food and beverage department expenses.

The September rate

Engine publishes San Francisco at $165 per night across 3.1M public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. These are par rates. September averages $192, 16 percent above the city average. March is the highest month at $197 and December the lowest at $129. Thirty-five percent separates the cheapest month from the priciest. San Francisco ranks 18 of 50 markets, 11 percent above the $148 median.

The read

Price the arrival night against the September basis. September averages 16 percent above the city average, and the published programme puts the group's room demand on a single night. Staff the front desk for one evening peak. The day's lunch and reception covers belong to the venue's caterer, so the hotel's food and beverage capture for this group sits on the night before and the morning of.
