The 15-Day Window And What Closes It
The IHSAA's 2026-27 calendar dates the boys swimming and diving state finals to Friday 26 and Saturday 27 February 2027. Sectionals run 18 and 20 February. Diving regionals run 23 February. The tourney entry list deadline is Thursday 11 February 2027. 11 February to 26 February is 15 days, and 11 February to the first sectional date is seven days.
The dates come from two of the association's own publications. Its boys sport page carries the season clock with the February sectionals, regionals and finals. Its 2026-27 Seasons at a Glance document carries the entry list deadline, the in-season roster deadline of 20 November and the officials rating period of 11 to 18 January, each on its own column. The season carries 18 contests.
11 February is the front desk's close. The field for the state meet is declared that Thursday, seven days before the sectional round and 15 days before the Friday's first session.
The Friday Arrival And The Saturday Departure
The 2027 session clock is unpublished. The 2026-27 tournament page returns the site's 404 body. The 2026 edition is the published record. It ran Friday 27 and Saturday 28 February 2026 at the IU Natatorium, 901 W. New York St., Indianapolis.
Friday's gates opened at 4:30 p.m. ET, with swimming preliminaries at 6 p.m. ET. Saturday's gates opened at 6:45 a.m. ET, diving preliminaries and semifinals went at 9 a.m. ET, and the championship and consolation finals in all swimming events plus the diving finals went at 1 p.m. ET.
A household that attends both published days books the Friday night and checks out on the Saturday. The published Saturday closes at 1 p.m. ET, so the pair supports one night. A household that adds the Saturday night books two.
The prior edition's advancement rule is published on the same page. The top 16 in each swimming event from Friday's preliminaries return on the Saturday, with the top eight vying for championship honors and those finishing nine through 16 filling the consolation heats. All diving takes place on the Saturday.
Pricing The Friday And The Saturday
Engine's Indianapolis page gives the citywide basis for the Friday rate. Its average is 128 dollars per night across 1.2 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. Its February average is 107 dollars, 16 percent below that figure. Its May average is 158 dollars, 23 percent above. The page's own line calls February the cheapest month for the city, with rates swinging 32 percent across the year.
Every point is a par rate, the cheapest public price at the moment of a live search, observed 10 to 180 days before check-in. The 15 days from 11 February to 26 February sit inside that observation range. The page states it carries no per-property figure.
The prior edition's public sale opened on Monday 23 February 2026 at 9 a.m. ET, four days before the Friday's first session. Its admission ladder was 15 dollars per session general admission, with children five and younger free in general admission seating, and a limited number of 35 dollar reserved seats good for both days at a maximum of eight per purchase. Streaming ran 15 dollars for Friday's preliminaries alone or 20 dollars for both days.
The association publishes no hotel rate, no housing block and no booking cut-off for the state finals.
The Wave The Boys Final Closes
The venue's events index, stamped updated 2 September 2026, lists four February 2027 competition weekends. Jaguar Aquatics runs 5 to 7 February, the IHSAA girls finals 12 to 13, the Horizon League championships 17 to 20, and the IHSAA boys finals 26 to 27. The four arrivals sit inside a 22-day run from 5 February to 27 February.
The arrival shapes differ. The Jaguar meet runs Friday to Sunday for two nights, the girls' finals Friday to Saturday for one, the Horizon League Wednesday to Saturday for three, and the boys' finals Friday to Saturday for one.
The Horizon League's opening day is Wednesday 17 February at the IU Natatorium. Six days separate the Horizon Saturday from the boys' Friday.
Two publishers carry the inventory the Friday prices against. The Indiana Convention Center's figure block gives 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis and 4,700 connected via skywalks. Visit Indy's downtown hotels page gives more than 9,400 hotel rooms downtown and 5,200 connected to the convention center. Each count belongs to its own publisher.
The 800-room Signia by Hilton Indianapolis is accepting reservations for stays beginning 1 February 2027, on the Convention Center's own news item. That first stay night sits 25 days before the boys' Friday.
What The Front Office Can Hold
The published record gives the desk one close and one night. The close is Thursday 11 February 2027, 15 days before the first session and seven days before the sectional round. The night is Friday 26 February, with a Saturday departure.
The 2027 session clock, gate times, ticket ladder, attendance forecast and any housing term are unpublished for the boys' finals. The clocks and prices in this piece are the 2026 edition's, and they carry their own dates.
