Microsoft Ignite sets a dated November window at Moscone
Microsoft Ignite runs 17-20 November 2026 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Microsoft publishes an optional pre-day of sessions and labs on 16 November. The online event runs 17-19 November.
The venue’s own event feed dates the 2026 edition from 17 November to 20 November and gives the location as Moscone North, South and West.
Microsoft’s numbers block reads 20K+ in-person attendees, 200K+ digital attendees, 2,100+ speakers and 830+ sessions.
One calendar date covers the block and the refund
Two published deadlines fall on Friday 16 October 2026, each quoted to the minute on the Ignite FAQ.
Hotel reservations secured through the Ignite registration page must be booked by 3:00 PM Pacific Time on Friday 16 October 2026. Microsoft adds that availability is limited.
Cancellation requests must be received by 11:59 PM Pacific Time the same day. Conference and Hub-only passes cancelled on or before that date are eligible for a refund, minus a $200 processing fee. The FAQ publishes no refund for a cancellation after the date.
The two clocks sit on one date and close eight hours and 59 minutes apart.
The registration clock runs four weeks later
In-person registrations must be completed by 5:00 PM Pacific Time on Friday 13 November 2026.
Registration transfers run to the same minute. Microsoft requires the original registrant to initiate a transfer and to complete it by 5:00 PM Pacific Time on Friday 13 November 2026.
What the pass table says about the stay
The passes tab lists three passes. The Conference pass costs $2,325 and covers the Moscone Center campus, lunches, snacks, beverages and the digital venue. The Hub-only pass costs $1,625 and covers Hub experiences on 17-19 November. The Digital pass is free. An add-on Pre-day pass costs $325.
The published clocks run from the Monday pre-day on 16 November to the Friday close on 20 November. That span is five calendar days, and the Hub-only window covers three of them. A Conference guest and a Hub-only guest carry different night counts into one rate calendar.
Hotel booking access is limited to four properties. The FAQ ties that access to the Advantage pass and states that reservations are available while inventory lasts and subject to availability. The passes tab names no Advantage pass, so the eligibility line sits on the FAQ page alone.
The market basis for a November window
Engine’s citywide page, read on 15 October 2026, puts San Francisco’s average nightly rate at $165 across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. The monthly ladder gives November at $147, which is 11 percent below the city average, and December at $129, 22 percent below. March is the highest month at $197. The page states a 35 percent spread between the cheapest and the priciest month.
CoStar with STR reported San Francisco occupancy at 79.3 percent for August 2026, ADR at $216.77 and RevPAR at $171.84, each above August 2025. Its release for the week to 26 September 2026 put San Francisco RevPAR at $223.16, a 35.1 percent lift and the largest RevPAR increase among the 25 largest markets.
AHLA and the California Hotel & Lodging Association published an Oxford Economics study on 25 June 2026. Hotels generated more than $12 billion in economic impact in San Francisco in 2025. Each hotel room night drives about $900 in citywide spending. The study attributes the rebound to a materially stronger convention calendar and the return of large-scale events.
Actions for the rate calendar
Put 16 October in the rate calendar twice, once for the 3:00 PM Pacific block cut-off and once for the 11:59 PM Pacific cancellation clock.
Track 13 November as the last date an in-person attendee can appear on the manifest and the last date a name change can land.
Keep block inventory and open-market inventory apart in the rate plan. The block is a request inside the registration flow, it is limited to four properties, and it is available while inventory lasts.
