A fifteen percent cut to the points price
IHG One Rewards opened a 15 percent discount on award-night redemptions in mid-September 2026. Members book by 21 September and stay by 2 November 2026. The discount applies at properties worldwide and to the points price of a Reward Night.
Access opened in two stages. Holders of IHG co-branded credit or debit cards qualified first. Diamond and Platinum elite members gained access within days, and IHG confirmed the wider availability to Frequent Miler on 16 September 2026.
Who qualifies
Four co-branded cards sit on the published list: the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card, the IHG One Rewards Traveler Credit Card, the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card and the IHG One Rewards Select Credit Card. The Select card is closed to new applicants. TravelingForMiles records that earlier promotions of the same shape reached IHG cards issued outside the United States.
IHG publishes no landing page for the sale. The discount appears in a member's search results after sign-in, and no registration step is required. The MileLion states that Diamond and Platinum members must sign in for the discounted availability to show.
The terms a revenue team can quote
The MileLion's terms list for the 2026 sale carries no minimum and no maximum stay, no cap on the points a member can save, and no limit on the number of awards. The 2025 edition of the same sale applied to award bookings of three nights or less.
The discount reaches the points component of a Points & Cash booking. The MileLion and One Mile at a Time both report that treatment in September 2026.
A booking made inside the window can be changed or cancelled under the usual cancellation policy.
The certificate band at 40,000 points
The anniversary free night certificates on the Premier and Premier Business cards carry a value of up to 40,000 points each, and IHG allows a holder to add points when a property costs more than the certificate covers.
TravelingForMiles records that the 15 percent discount brought several properties inside the 40,000-point band on the nights it searched. Frequent Miler records two limits on the same mechanic. The legacy Select card's certificate is capped at 40,000 points and cannot be topped up, and the sale cannot be stacked with the fourth-night-free benefit that several IHG cards carry.
The window and its length
The booking window closed on 21 September 2026. The stay window closes on 2 November 2026. TravelingForMiles counts six weeks for the 2026 sale against ten weeks for its 2025 predecessor.
IHG publishes no redemption volume, no participating-property list and no per-property points table for the sale. A property's own redemption count across the stay window is the record its revenue team holds.
