One gate, seven hours, one day
The Folsom Street Fair held one day in 2026. The organiser's front page reads "SEPTEMBER 27, 2026 11AM - 6PM", and the FAQ dated the fair to Sunday 27 September. Eleven in the morning to six in the evening is seven hours, with one gate opening and one closing.
The footprint was Folsom Street between 7th and 13th Streets, plus 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Streets from Howard to Harrison, and Dore Street from Howard to the end. Entry was a donation collected at the gate. The organiser states that a gift of $10 to $20 earned a fair sticker, and that the sticker carried a discount at all bars.
The organiser's About Folsom Street page dates the organisation to 1984 and calls the 2026 fair its 43rd annual edition.
The arrival band ran late morning into the afternoon
One 11 a.m. opening put the arrival band in the late morning for the front of the queue and spread the rest across the afternoon. One 6 p.m. close set the last hour of the day.
The organiser's weather note states that San Francisco is cool from June to August and that the city often enjoys a late summer in the second half of September. The fair sat on 27 September, inside that window.
The organiser also publishes its own room block. The travel page links a booking at BEI San Francisco, a Trademark Collection by Wyndham property at 50 8th Street, under group code 260925FOL, with check-in on 25 September and check-out on 28 September 2026. That window ran Friday to Monday and covered the fair Sunday. The rate sits behind the booking flow.
Where the footprint's room inventory sits
Straight-line distances from the fair's published headquarters address, 1401 Folsom Street, put seven lodging properties inside three-tenths of a mile on a 7 October 2026 map read: Civic Center Motor Inn at 364 9th Street, 0.11 mile; San Francisco Inn at 385 9th Street, 0.15 mile; Inn on Folsom at 1188 Folsom Street, 0.25 mile; European Hostel at 761 Minna Street, 0.26 mile; SoMa Park Inn Civic Center at 101 9th Street, 0.27 mile; Ram's Hotel at 80 9th Street, 0.29 mile; and Poter Hotel, 0.30 mile. BEI San Francisco at 50 8th Street, the fair's own block, sits 0.36 mile from the same point. These are straight-line distances from a map index, not walking routes.
Engine publishes San Francisco's citywide average at $165 a night across 3.1 million par-rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. September reads $192, 16 percent above the city average, and the page states that its observations come from searches made 10 to 180 days before check-in.
The afternoon covers sat on twelve bar locations
The Food & Drink page lists twelve outdoor bar locations across eight venues, each with its street position. 1015 Folsom sits on 8th below Folsom. Azucar sits at Folsom and 9th. The Eagle holds three locations, on 9th, 10th and 12th below Folsom. The Foundry sits on 11th below Folsom. NPU holds two, on 9th and 12th above Folsom. Oasis sits on 11th above Folsom. Powerhouse sits on Dore below Folsom. The Stud holds two, on 8th above Folsom and on 10th above Folsom inside The Playground.
The same page lists six food trucks on 9th below Folsom and eight food booths on 12th below Folsom.
Three published terms shape those covers. Every partner bar is LEAD-trained by an ABC-certified trainer, and every alcohol purchase is carded. Attendees aged 18 to 20 are admitted and cannot drink. The fair is smoke-free under a San Francisco ordinance, and the organiser directs a smoker to exit one of the main gates and re-enter.
The sticker is the fourth term. The gate collected the donation and issued the bar discount.
The 6 p.m. close ended street service
The organiser's lost-and-found note marks 6 p.m. as the end of the operating day. Items turned in after that hour wait until the Wednesday after the fair, and the Safety team's post is the headquarters at 1401 Folsom Street.
The twelve bar locations belong to licensed venues that sit on the footprint, so street service stopped at 6 p.m. while those venues stayed in place. The crowd that filled the footprint between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. was off the street at 6 p.m., and the evening demand from that crowd ran after the close.
Accessible parking for the fair was fourteen blue-zone spaces, four at Howard and Dore and ten on Harrison at 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th Streets, so the assisted arrival points sat on the footprint's north and south edges.
Three times for the front desk
The 11 a.m. gate set the arrival band. The twelve bar locations and the eight food booths set the service band inside the published 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. window. The 6 p.m. close handed the evening to the district's own venues and dining rooms.
The organiser publishes no attendance figure, no capacity figure and no gate count for the 2026 fair.
