FOG Design+Art opens its 13th edition at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture on Thursday, January 21, 2027, and closes on Sunday, January 24. The Preview Gala lands on Wednesday, January 20, 2027. That evening runs 4 to 10 p.m. with entry tiered by ticket level. A revenue desk prices the gala night as an extra midweek night ahead of the fair.
Six rungs, five entry hours
The gala's own page lists five circle packages and one single-ticket level. Titanium Circle costs $25,000 for ten tickets with early entry at 4 p.m. Platinum Circle costs $12,000 for six tickets at 4 p.m. Gold Circle costs $6,000 for four tickets at 4:30 p.m. Silver Circle costs $3,000 for two tickets at 5 p.m. Bronze Circle costs $1,200 for two tickets at 6 p.m.
Supporter tickets sell at $300 per person for a single seat with entry from 7 p.m. to the 10 p.m. close. Each circle package also carries recognition in event materials, a line on the invitation and complimentary valet parking. The Supporter ticket carries complimentary shuttle service.
The seats split by the hour they enter. The five packages hold 24 seats in all. Sixteen of those seats enter at 4 p.m., four at 4:30 p.m., two at 5 p.m. and two at 6 p.m. Supporter single tickets add an open stream from 7 p.m. to the close.
Per seat, Titanium prices at $2,500, Platinum at $2,000, Gold and Silver at $1,500, Bronze at $600 and Supporter at $300. Each rung publishes its own tax-deductible contribution beside the price: $24,000 on Titanium, $11,400 on Platinum, $5,600 on Gold, $2,800 on Silver, $1,000 on Bronze and $225 on a Supporter ticket.
What every guest is buying
SFMOMA lists three inclusions that attach to all guests: an exclusive buying opportunity before the fair opens to the public, the evening's entertainment with cocktails and culinary creations, and fair admission covering talks and programs.
Three terms bound the purchase. The gala is restricted to guests aged 21 and over. All sales are final and tickets are nonrefundable. Donor Advised Funds cannot pay any portion of a ticket whose full price is not tax deductible, and the full value must be purchased with personal funds. Bronze level and above carry multiday access to the fair, while a Supporter ticket carries single-day access.
The gala raises money for SFMOMA's education initiatives. The fair's own release puts those programs at more than 100,000 students, teachers, youth and families a year, across online and in-person resources, programs and visits.
The nights the gala and the fair put on the books
The gala takes Wednesday, January 20, 2027. The fair's four days follow on Thursday 21, Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24.
Worked as room nights, a gala-only stay arriving Tuesday 19 and leaving Thursday 21 covers two nights. A fair-only stay arriving Thursday 21 and leaving Monday 25 covers four nights. A guest taking both windows with a Wednesday arrival and a Monday departure books five nights.
Three of those five nights fall midweek. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday carry the weeknights, and Saturday and Sunday carry the weekend. A desk pricing the window splits it into a three-night midweek block and a two-night weekend block.
The same window is booked across town
The Moscone Center publishes its own event calendar as a feed of 174 records. The January 2027 window holds three bookings. Specialty Food Association Winter FancyFaire 2027 runs Sunday 17 to Tuesday 19 January in Moscone North and South. The American Society of Clinical Oncology GI Cancers Symposium 2027 runs Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 January in Moscone West. SPIE Photonics West 2027 runs Saturday 30 January to Thursday 4 February.
The GI Cancers Symposium occupies the same Thursday, Friday and Saturday that the fair runs at Fort Mason. The FancyFaire closes on the Tuesday before the gala.
The rate basis under the window
Engine's San Francisco page averages $165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. January reads $166, one percent above the city average. March tops the ladder at $197 and December sits lowest at $129. A spread of 35 percent separates the cheapest month from the priciest.
Engine defines these figures as par rates. The term means the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search, before any negotiated or booked rate. San Francisco ranks 18 of 50 major U.S. markets on that basis, 11 percent above the $148 median of the 50 markets in the dataset.
At the January figure, five nights price at $830 and six nights at $996. Those are par rates and not quotes.
The Oxford Economics study released by the American Hotel & Lodging Association on 25 June 2026 puts each hotel room night at about $900 in citywide spending per visitor. Five nights carry $4,500 of that spending and six nights carry $5,400. The same study records average daily rates at 92 percent of 2019 levels with a forecast of 98 percent for 2026, and nearly 50,000 hotel-supported jobs, about 16,000 direct and about 34,000 ancillary.
What the fair leaves unpublished
The fair and the venue publish no hotel partner, no room block, no group code and no room rate. The fair's site, its October 2026 release and the venue's directions page carry no hotel or lodging listing.
Fort Mason Center's own directions page carries the operational terms that remain. The main campus entrance is off Marina Boulevard at Buchanan Street. Overnight parking is not permitted on campus. Parking fees apply from 7 a.m. to midnight daily and run from $6 for the first hour to $30 beyond four hours on an event day.
The gala itself carries no room, no rate and no cut-off. The desk prices the Wednesday night off the property's own January book and holds the fair's four nights against it.
