Three clocks in one Saturday
The 2027 Chinese New Year Parade steps off at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday 20 February 2027 from Second and Market Streets. The organiser's FAQ gives the route as about 1.3 miles around Union Square, ending at Kearny Street and Columbus Avenue. The parade marks the Year of the Ram.
Traffic closes first. The same FAQ answer states that SFPD begins closing streets around 3 p.m. It tells bleacher holders to check in to an assigned section by 4:00 p.m. The span from the 3 p.m. closure to the step-off is 2.25 hours. The span from the 4 p.m. check-in to the step-off is 75 minutes.
The arrival window
A guest arriving by car after 3 p.m. meets the closure. The organiser's transportation page lists the garages nearest the route: Golden Gateway at 250 Clay Street, Portsmouth Square at 733 Kearny Street, North Beach at 735 Vallejo Street, Vallejo Street at 766 Vallejo Street, and Ellis-O'Farrell Garage at 123 O'Farrell Street. Each address sits inside or against the closure area.
The same page recommends public transport and names BART's Embarcadero, Montgomery, Powell and Civic Center stations on Market Street. A property that moves check-in to noon clears the closure by three hours.
The key handover and the badge handover
The organiser runs access through a check-in station. The FAQ states that a receipt does not admit anyone to the bleachers. The guest presents the ticket QR code at a check-in station and receives a badge to display while seated. That is a second handover inside the evening, on top of the room key.
Four bleacher sections are published. Section A sits on Kearny Street between Washington and Jackson Streets, Section B sits on Kearny Street between California and Sacramento Streets, Section C sits on Post Street between Grant Avenue and Kearny Street, and Section E sits on Geary Street between Stockton and Powell Streets.
The ticket page describes Section A1 as covered by a canopy and closest to Chinatown, and Section E3 at Union Square as including a gift bag. A property that prints the section address, the check-in instruction and the 4:00 p.m. line on the key wallet moves that queue out of the lobby.
The night runs into the next day
The organiser gives the parade about 2-1/2 hours and states that rain does not cancel it. From a 5:15 p.m. step-off the close lands near 7:45 p.m. Portables sit along the route near the bleacher areas.
The Community Street Fair runs Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February 2027 on Grant Street between California and Broadway, with more than 120 booths and an entertainment stage on Pacific Street below Grant Avenue. A Saturday-only booking leaves the Sunday night open inside a two-day street closure, and a Sunday checkout lands on a morning when Grant Street is still closed. A Monday 22 February checkout clears both days.
The rate fence that holds
The constrained product is the Saturday night. An arrival-hour fence works against the property here, because a rate that requires a pre-3 p.m. arrival pushes a booked guest outside the closure line on the evening the guest has bought.
A length-of-stay fence works on the same night. A two-night minimum arriving Saturday and departing Monday matches the Street Fair's own Saturday-and-Sunday run, defends the Saturday room and leaves the arrival hour to the guest.
The ticket terms
Bleacher tickets run through Eventeny. All sales are final and non-refundable, and the organiser states that it neither requests nor accepts payment by Zelle. Children two and under need no ticket and must sit on a parent's or guardian's lap. Accessible seating inside each bleacher section sells at the standard price, and the reserved accessible viewing areas along the street barricades are free.
Demand on the same weekend
The Orthopaedic Research Society holds its 2027 Annual Meeting at Moscone West from 19 to 23 February 2027, by the society's own meeting page. The Moscone Center's event feed lists the same meeting across 19 to 23 February. Its second day falls on parade day.
The rest of the festival
The Flower Market Fair runs Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 January 2027 on Grant Street between Clay and Broadway, also with more than 120 booths. The parade application deadline for 2027 is 31 October 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of San Francisco organises the parade from 730 Sacramento Street. Its history page dates the chamber's direction of the parade to 1958 and gives the audience as more than three million spectators and television viewers across the United States, Canada and Asia. The parade office answers on (415) 889-8891.
