IHG Opens a 24 Percent Early Bird Offer in Greater China

IHG opened an early booking offer for holiday travel across Greater China. IHG One Rewards members get up to 24 percent off participating hotels with at least 14 days of notice.

Up to 24 percent off for members who book early

IHG Hotels & Resorts opened an early booking offer for holiday travel across Greater China. IHG One Rewards members receive up to 24 percent off stays at participating hotels when they book at least 14 days ahead. The company published the offer on 17 September 2026 under a Shanghai dateline.

The 14-day rule

The offer turns on lead time. A member who books at least 14 days before the stay qualifies. The release ties the discount to IHG One Rewards membership.

The 24 percent figure is a ceiling. The release says up to 24 percent, which leaves individual hotels and room types free to carry a lower rate.

Where the offer applies

The offer covers participating hotels across Greater China. The release says it is available across a wide range of brands and destinations. It names no brand list and no property list. It puts IHG’s regional brand count at 14.

The three travel trends the release names

IHG frames the offer around three trends it says are standing out this season. The first is longer, more immersive trips. The release cites Western Sichuan and points to Holiday Inn Express Litang, Holiday Inn Express Daocheng Yading and Holiday Inn Batang as bases for the region.

The second is short breaks close to home. It names Huzhou, Ningbo, Suzhou, Wuxi and Nanjing, with Crowne Plaza Huzhou, Holiday Inn Resort Ningbo Ninghai, Hotel Indigo Suzhou Yangcheng Lake, InterContinental Wuxi Taihu New City and voco Nanjing Garden Expo.

The third is emerging destinations. It cites Qinhuangdao, Chongli, Wugong Mountain, Wushan and Luoyang, with Resea Hotel Beidaihe, Vignette Collection, EVEN Hotel Chongli, voco Wugong Mountain Jiangxi, HUALUXE Chongqing Wushan and Holiday Inn Express Luoyang Nanchang Road.

The three sections name fourteen properties in total. The release places every one of them inside the offer’s participating-property scope, which it describes as a wide range across Greater China.

What the release leaves out

The release names no booking window, no stay window, no blackout dates and no list of participating properties. It states no minimum stay, no cancellation terms and no room-type restriction. The published terms rest on the corporate release.

The IHG estate behind the offer

The release’s corporate boilerplate gives IHG’s global scale: 21 hotel brands, more than one million rooms across 7,000 hotels in over 100 countries, and a development pipeline of 2,400 further properties. IHG One Rewards carries over 160 million members. The release puts roughly 400,000 people across IHG’s hotels and corporate offices worldwide.

The boilerplate groups the brand family by tier. Luxury & Lifestyle carries Six Senses, Regent, InterContinental, Vignette Collection, Kimpton and Hotel Indigo. Premium carries Noted Collection, voco, Ruby, HUALUXE, Crowne Plaza and EVEN. Essentials carries Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn, Garner and avid. Suites carries Atwell Suites, Staybridge Suites, Holiday Inn Club Vacations and Candlewood Suites. Iberostar Beachfront Resorts sits as an exclusive partner.

What the advance-purchase gate decides

The offer covers the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday period. A member who plans inside two weeks of a stay cannot use it. For a revenue manager, the offer sets a 24 percent ceiling on participating hotels and a 14-day booking gate, with no published window or property list to price against.
