The launch
World of Hyatt switched on free online points transfers between members on Thursday, 15 October 2026. A member moves points into another member's account from the programme website at no charge.
The transfer runs at a one-to-one ratio. The smallest amount is 1,000 points, and every amount above that climbs in 500-point steps.
The four limits
Both accounts must have been open at least 60 days. A guest who enrols a family member this week cannot receive points in that account before arrival.
A member sends up to 525,000 points per transaction. The same figure caps what a member sends in a calendar year and what a member receives.
The programme allows six free transfers a calendar year, with one gift and one receipt per calendar month.
Hyatt's term sheet reads that points "generally transfer within 24 hours". A transfer that goes to additional review can take up to 10 business days.
What changes for a revenue team
A member can now book an award from points another member sent. The 60-day account age sets the shortest run-up for a newly opened account.
The review window is the operational risk. A guest who plans a dated arrival against a transfer carries a 10-business-day worst case.
Six transfers a year and one a month are separate limits from the point cap. A member who sends 1,000 points six times has spent the year's transfers with most of the point allowance in hand.
The form it replaces
Members already moved points between accounts by form. The paper route posted nothing immediately and allowed a combine once every 30 days. Hyatt tied that limit to holding enough points for a particular award.
The promise it settles
Hyatt promised the online transfer with the award-chart announcement in February 2026. The programme said at the time that the feature would arrive later in the year.
Where it sits in the programme
Guest of Honor Awards, Suite Upgrade Awards, Club Access Awards and Free Night Awards already move between accounts online. The points balance now moves with them.
