The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka: Club access, Bonvoy and points

The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka pairs hakata-ori interiors with an infinity pool over Hakata Bay, Genjyu dining and a top-floor Club Lounge. A three-night read of the rooms, the food and what Bonvoy status does and does not unlock.

The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka opened in June 2023 in the main tower of the Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City complex. Prince of Travel published a first-person review on 2 October 2026. Amy Tung wrote it from a three-night stay in August 2026 at Titanium Elite status. The account carries what an operator prices against: the Club access rule, the elite benefit set, the redemption figures and the food and beverage estate.

The room product

The review counts 167 guest rooms, including 20 suites, on the 19th to 23rd floors. The hotel’s own rooms page gives entry-level rooms from 50 square metres, and The Ritz-Carlton Suite at 188 square metres with a kitchen and a dining room that seats eight. Sleeper Magazine and Spa Business publish 167 rooms, and Forbes Travel Guide places the guest accommodation in the top nine floors of a 25-storey tower.

Interiors draw on Hakata-ori silks, lacquered woven bamboo and stone. Tung reports interconnecting rooms for a family of five, USB-A and USB-C ports at the bed and seating area, a beverage bar with a fridge, tea, dashi broth and a Nespresso machine, and bathroom privacy panels that do not lock.

The Club Lounge carries the rate

The Ritz-Carlton Club sits at the top of the hotel. The brand’s Club page states the access rule: Club access requires an upgraded booking at the Club, and Marriott Bonvoy elite status does not provide complimentary access. The lounge serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, evening hors d’oeuvres and cordials, with a dedicated concierge on duty around the clock.

Tung reports a Club room costing from JPY 30,000 more per night than a standard guest room, including Club entry for two guests, with suites also carrying access. Day access is purchasable, subject to occupancy and lounge capacity. The hotel’s Club page gives JPY 25,300 per person per night for a third guest taking Club privileges, and the review gives JPY 8,222 per child aged 12 and up and JPY 3,125 for ages 6 to 11.

Guests below 20 years of age are welcome between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., per the hotel’s Club page. The review reports a dedicated bar, live jazz with the hors d’oeuvres service on weekends, and a private dining room.

What Bonvoy status unlocks

Tung lists the benefits received at Platinum and Titanium Elite. No upgrade, with connecting rooms granted instead. A welcome amenity of 1,000 Bonvoy points. Late check-out, offered. Breakfast arrived for both rooms through Club access; the review states breakfast is not typically complimentary at Ritz-Carlton properties, and the hotel’s dining page lists it at Viridis for a fee. Pool, sauna and steam room access is recorded for Titanium Elite and above, for guests in suites or Club-category rooms and for spa clients. Gym access is complimentary for all guests.

The Club rule and the Viridis fee are the property’s published terms. The welcome-points figure and the spa-access rule are the reviewer’s account.

The points and cash figures as reported

The review states standard room redemptions from 78,000 points or USD 800 per night. On the dates booked, Tung reports 103,000 to 108,000 points per room per night for two rooms over three nights, offset by two 85K Free Night Awards. Cash rates were CAD 1,200 per room per night before tax. At the 0.8 cents per point the publisher applies to Bonvoy points, the 108,000-point redemption returns 1.11 cents per point on the reviewer’s arithmetic.

Every figure here is the reviewer’s account of one stay.

The food and beverage estate

The hotel’s dining page counts four restaurants and two bars. The review names five: Viridis, Genjyu, Diva, the Lobby Lounge & Bar and Bay. Genjyu covers kaiseki, sushi and teppanyaki, and its sushi counter is supervised by Tokyo’s Michelin-starred Sushi Masashi, per the restaurant’s own page. Bay occupies the 24th floor with an open-air terrace over Hakata Bay.

Bay’s Sunset Hour runs 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The bar’s own page states the offer as a second drink free with the purchase of a glass. Tung writes it as a complimentary second drink for Marriott Bonvoy members, with every tier qualifying. The bar’s page carries no membership condition.

The review reports a Viridis breakfast of a Japanese and Western buffet with an a la carte egg menu, and an Obon dinner buffet at JPY 10,800 per adult, with children aged 12 and under dining complimentary when accompanied by a Bonvoy member.

Location and access

The hotel’s own access page puts the property a five-minute walk from the subway at Tenjin Station, and fifteen minutes by car or public transport from the airport, the bullet train and the ferry service at Hakata Port. The registered address is 2-6-50 Daimyo in Chuo Ward. The review places the hotel in Tenjin, the district next to Daimyo.

The wellness floor

The spa, pool, gym, steam room and sauna sit on the 24th floor, opposite the Club Lounge. Tung reports a 24-hour fitness centre, an infinity pool and hot tub over Hakata Bay, and complimentary yoga beside the pool on Sunday mornings. The property holds One MICHELIN Key and Japan’s Best Hotel Spa 2024, per its own overview page.

Attribution notes

The hotel publishes one Michelin-starred kitchen connection. It sits at Genjyu, where the sushi counter is supervised by Tokyo’s Michelin-starred Sushi Masashi. Viridis carries no Michelin listing. The tower’s storey count is 25 in the review, in Forbes Travel Guide and in Spa Business, and 24 in the Michelin Guide’s hotel entry.

What an operator can use

Three mechanics in this account carry a commercial read: a Club-level rate uplift of JPY 30,000 a night, an access rule that sits outside the loyalty programme, and a breakfast benefit that arrives through a paid upgrade. The property’s own pages confirm the access rule, the Viridis breakfast fee and the third-guest supplement.
