Rate parity clauses are loosening, and the OTAs know it

Three European markets have narrowed parity requirements this year. The effect on direct channel share is measurable but slower than operators hoped.

Narrower parity rules give hotels room to undercut on their own sites, but only the properties with strong direct traffic are converting that into bookings. Everyone else still pays for the same visibility.

The winners are treating it as a marketing problem, not a pricing one.
